Raw Brownie Batter
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1.5 cups pitted dates
- 6 tbsp cacao powder
- 1/2 cup all-natural almond butter
- 1 tbsp flax seed (optional)
Maple Cacao Frosting
- 4 tbsp cacao powder
- 4 tbsp maple syrup or date syrup
- 2 tbsp all-natural almond butter
- 2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk (more if needed)
For The Brownies
Add the walnuts and dates to a food processor. Pulse until smooth.
Add the cacao powder, flax seed (optional), and almond butter to the food processor. Pulse until well combined.
Scrape out brownie mixture and add to an 8×8 inch pan lined with parchment paper.
Let sit in refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
For The Frosting
Mix all the ingredients together in a small bowl.
The consistency shouldn’t be too thick, but make sure it’s not runny. If it’s not thin enough, slowly add more almond milk until desired consistency is reached.
Take brownies out of fridge after 30 minutes to 1 hour and top with frosting and crushed walnuts.
Let them sit in fridge for another 30 minutes.
Cut into 9 squares & enjoy!
