Ingredients

Raw Brownie Batter

  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1.5 cups pitted dates
  • 6 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1/2 cup all-natural almond butter
  • 1 tbsp flax seed (optional)

Maple Cacao Frosting

  • 4 tbsp cacao powder
  • 4 tbsp maple syrup or date syrup
  • 2 tbsp all-natural almond butter
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk (more if needed)

Instructions

For The Brownies

  • Add the walnuts and dates to a food processor. Pulse until smooth.
  • Add the cacao powder, flax seed (optional), and almond butter to the food processor. Pulse until well combined.
  • Scrape out brownie mixture and add to an 8x8 inch pan lined with parchment paper.
  • Let sit in refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

For The Frosting

  • Mix all the ingredients together in a small bowl.
  • The consistency shouldn’t be too thick, but make sure it’s not runny. If it’s not thin enough, slowly add more almond milk until desired consistency is reached.
  • Take brownies out of fridge after 30 minutes to 1 hour and top with frosting and crushed walnuts.
  • Let them sit in fridge for another 30 minutes.
  • Cut into 9 squares & enjoy!
